Russian Orthodox Epiphany Day dunk in an ice-hole

Our foreign students from Egypt, Syria, China and Côte d'Ivoire surprised us yet again - not only with their academic performance, but with their enthusiasm to literally dive into Russian culture and local student life!
The brave few joined the director and other staff members to honor a Russian winter tradition of diving into a hole in the ice covering a lake. On that exact day the water is believed to be blessed and good for your health - what a great way to challenge yourself and learn about Russian traditions!
This day will surely stay in the brave students' memories for a long time, as they themselves admitted after the whole thing was done.
